Flori vs Linear for AI agents
Compare Linear and Flori for agentic project management. When choosing project management for AI agents, start with Linear if your work already lives in its issues; test Flori when the brief moves between assistants.
What each product documents
| Tool | Documented approach | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Linear | Linear supports delegating issues to agents. Linear source. | Try an issue handoff if your work already lives in Linear. |
| Flori | A shared project record for you and connected assistants. You choose which projects they can read or update. Connection guides. | Save a decision in one assistant, then read it from another. |
The decision: issue execution or a shared brief?
Linear’s agent guide describes delegated issues where a person remains the main assignee and the agent becomes a contributor. It also shows agents added to projects or mentioned in comments. Flori’s connection starts with your chosen assistant reading an authorized project record. Our recommendation is to keep Linear when the issue, its acceptance criteria and review already give the agent everything it needs. Try Flori when planning and delivery move between assistants and the agreed brief is scattered across chats. This is our workflow judgment, not a measured performance ranking.
Linear says “delegate entire issues end-to-end”. Source checked October 16, 2026.
| Situation | Practical trade-off |
|---|---|
| Engineering work already has a Linear issue | Keeping that issue avoids copying status into another system. Test delegation there first. |
| A planner and a coding assistant need the same decision | Flori can hold the shared brief, but you must decide which record owns status. |
| You need automatic updates from every assistant | A Flori connection alone cannot guarantee this. Check actual saves from each assistant. |
Set up a fair release-task trial in Flori
- Create a project and paste a short release brief into its description. Link the existing Linear issue in a task instead of copying an entire backlog.
- Open Settings → Connections. For Claude, choose Connect, add Flori in Customize → Connectors, use the copied address, complete sign-in and enable it in the chat.
- Grant this project update access. Ask Claude to save the agreed release constraint and the next implementation step.
- Connect Cursor or Codex from the same Flori settings and choose the same project. Ask it to retrieve the constraint before working.
- Compare the retrieved decision and saved result with the issue record. Stop the trial if maintaining both records creates conflicting next steps.
Flori does not synchronize Linear issue status. When a connected assistant also has Linear tools, updates there depend on that separate connection and your authorization. Choose one record to own completion; link to it from the other.
