Best project management tools for AI agents
Choose agentic project management around the work you already have. This comparison of project management for AI agents covers issue trackers, document workspaces and shared project records, with a practical trial for each approach.
Ten tools to consider

| Notion | Notion offers Notion Agent and Custom Agents. Notion source. | Try a project whose context already lives in Notion. |

Shortlist by the work you need to carry
For an existing issue workflow, test Linear before moving the backlog. For document-centered work, try Notion’s own agent on the documents already there. For board or process automation, evaluate monday.com, Asana, ClickUp and Trello against one actual recurring process. For a compact record shared by your own assistants, include Flori, Agiflow, Pad and Plate. These groupings are our interpretation of the linked product descriptions.
Trello’s source establishes boards, integrations and automation; it does not establish that every external assistant can update a board. Pad and Plate advertise assistant workflows, but their public pages do not prove availability in your account. Verify the exact connection before moving work.
Notion says “Custom Agents automate recurring work”. Source checked October 16, 2026.
Use a release brief as the comparison task
- Choose a brief with a constraint that changes the next action, such as requiring review before release. Use the same text in each trial.
- For Flori, create a project, put the constraint in its description and add a draft task. Open Settings → Connections and choose the assistant you actually use.
- Follow that assistant’s setup guide, sign in with this project and Read and update tasks, then enable Flori in the chat.
- Ask the assistant to save an agreed decision. Start a new session or another connected assistant and ask it to recover that decision without hints.
- Record whether you found the right project, whether the decision survived and whether the save was visible. Check what access you allowed and try disconnecting when the trial is over.
The cost of switching includes copying context, reconnecting assistants and teaching collaborators where to look. If your current tool passes the trial, a second project manager may add little. No success-rate, time-saving or price ranking is claimed here.
