A HoneyBook alternative when delivery is the problem to solve

By the Flori team · Published · Updated

Short answer: keep HoneyBook if your main need is getting clients booked, contracted and paid. Consider Flori for linked client records, delivery tasks and a workspace your own assistants can use. Flori does not replace HoneyBook's invoicing, payment collection, contracts or scheduler. Adding it is worthwhile only if the delivery improvement justifies another tool.

As of October 2026. Written by Flori. Official sources checked October 29; this is a documentation comparison, not a hands-on HoneyBook review.

Start with what you would lose

HoneyBook's pricing page lists invoices, payments, proposals, contracts, a client portal and HoneyBook AI on Starter. Scheduling and automations appear on Essentials. Published annual-billing prices are $29, $49 and $109 per month for Starter, Essentials and Premium. Team access differs by plan; confirm how your owner and collaborators count before choosing.

Flori Core is $12 per person monthly or $120 per person billed yearly, before tax. Three people are $36 monthly or $360 per year. Client pages and project templates are included on Core; assistants and client guests are not billable Flori seats. External assistant costs still apply. See Flori pricing.

Those prices do not buy equivalent functions. If you retain HoneyBook for contracts and payment, the honest comparison is HoneyBook plus Flori against your current setup, including the extra handoff. We do not claim the lower-looking subscription replaces your full process.

Test a delivery problem, not a feature count

Your problemWhat to test
The promised scope disappears after bookingCan the delivery owner retrieve the actual agreement, exclusions and client approver?
Several people depend on one client's inputCan each task show its owner and what is waiting on the client?
A draft receives contradictory feedbackCan you preserve the reviewed version, consolidated response and next revision?
Your assistant repeats an old decisionCan it retrieve the current source record in a new session?
You want fewer appsDoes a second tool solve enough of the above to justify maintaining it?

HoneyBook has projects and tasks; do not treat it as a booking form with no delivery capability. Its tasks documentation is a starting point for testing your team's process. We have not established that every workflow above requires switching.

A small studio trial with a clear stopping point

Use the fictional Juniper website project first. Its five-page scope, two contacts, six tasks and extra-page request give the trial something concrete to preserve. Do not move a live client's billing while evaluating project delivery.

In Flori, create the account, linked project and accepted brief. Assign the tasks deliberately. Have the assistant produce a read-only recap, then check whether it keeps the deferred sixth page outside the accepted scope. If you test writes, request a proposed task and inspect it before acceptance. Some authorized direct updates save immediately; the review queue does not hold every possible write.

Finally, prepare a client-facing update and a handover with open issues. A person reviews and publishes the appropriate content. The assistant MCP connector does not send the email or charge the client. Use the trial worksheet to record the plan, manual steps and failures.

Stop and keep the current setup if the handoff creates more duplication than it removes. If the useful change is simply a clearer checklist inside HoneyBook, that is a valid outcome.

What to move, if the trial succeeds

Begin with one engagement's confirmed scope, contacts and active delivery tasks. Keep contract versions, invoices, payment history and the client-facing booking process in the system that owns them. Link to those records where appropriate. Flori's sample CRM migration kit explains supported CSV fields; it is not a HoneyBook connector or a verified HoneyBook export migration.

For a different booking and admin workflow, compare HoneyBook and Dubsado. For a broader delivery shortlist, use the CRM with project management guide.

FAQ

Can Flori replace HoneyBook completely? No, if you need HoneyBook's contracts, invoicing, payment collection or scheduler. Flori can cover client records and delivery work while those functions remain in another tool.

Does HoneyBook already have AI and project tasks? Yes. HoneyBook lists its own AI and documents project tasks. Test the workflow and assistant access you actually need rather than assuming those capabilities are absent.

Should I move existing client billing during a trial? No. Evaluate delivery with fictional data or a carefully chosen engagement while keeping the existing billing and contract records available. A successful task trial is not a completed business migration.
