How do I connect the Plaid MCP server to Claude?

The registry lists a hosted endpoint at https://gateway.pipeworx.io/plaid/mcp. Check the publisher's authentication and client requirements, then add the endpoint as a custom connector in Claude and complete any sign-in it requires.

In Claude Code, run:

claude mcp add --transport http plaid https://gateway.pipeworx.io/plaid/mcp

A local package is listed as @pipeworx/mcp-plaid. Use the publisher's installation instructions for its complete command, arguments and authentication settings. A package name alone is not a complete Claude Desktop or Claude Code configuration.

The registry also lists these authentication or required environment fields: PIPEWORX_API_KEY (secret). Follow the publisher's guidance on which ones your authentication method needs, and keep secrets out of shared files.

Does the Plaid MCP server work with ChatGPT?
