Claude for marketing agencies: plan, setup and client-safe workflows

By the Flori team · Published · Updated

Short answer: a marketing agency of two or more people should start Claude on the Team plan, which shares projects, manages connectors in one place and doesn't train on your content by default. Give each client a Claude project with its voice guide and approved claims, and connect the system that holds your clients and their work, so drafts come from the live brief instead of a pasted copy. Claude drafts; your account lead and the client still approve.

As of November 2026. Plan details come from Anthropic's own pricing and help pages, linked below, and can change. Prices are in USD. Written by Flori, which makes one of the tools you could connect.

Which Claude plan should a marketing agency buy?

Team sizePlanPriceWhy
One freelancerPro$17 a month billed yearly, $20 monthlyEnough usage for drafting and research; turn off model training in settings for client work
2 to 150 peopleTeam, Standard seats$20 a seat a month billed yearly, $25 monthlyShared projects, central billing, SSO, admin controls for connectors, no training on your content by default
Heavy writers or strategistsTeam, Premium seats for those people$100 a seat a month billed yearly, $125 monthly5x Standard usage; mix seat types so only heavy users pay for it

Prices are from Claude's pricing page. Team admins control which connectors members can use, which matters when several clients' data flows through the same workspace.

How do you keep each client's material separate?

Client confidentiality is the first thing an agency has to get right.

  1. One Claude project per client. Put the voice guide, audiences, banned phrases, approved claims and recent winners in the project's knowledge. A writer working on Orchard Co. opens the Orchard Co. project, not a general chat.
  2. Share projects, not chats. On Team, projects can be shared with the people on that account. Keep personal chats for internal work.
  3. Scope every connector. When you connect a tool, give Claude the narrowest access that does the job: read-only for briefs and reports, update access only where it saves work you will review.
  4. Keep the client's approval outside Claude. Claude's draft is not the client's sign-off. Record approvals where the client actually gives them.

Eight workflows that save an agency real hours

WorkflowWhat Claude doesWhat a person still does
Discovery to briefTurns the discovery call transcript into a creative brief with goals, audience and deliverablesConfirms budget and scope with the client
Proposal and statement of workDrafts the proposal and SOW from the brief, your past projects and your rate cardPrices the risky parts and sends it
Monthly content planBuilds next month's calendar from the retainer, the client's calendar and last month's resultsChecks it against what the client actually wants this month
First draftsWrites posts, emails and landing page copy from the client project's voice guideEdits, fact-checks claims, sends for approval
Scope checkCompares a new client request with the signed SOW and lists what is newDecides whether it is a change order
Meeting notes to tasksTurns a call transcript into tasks with owners and datesAssigns them and moves the board
Weekly client updateSummarises what shipped, what is waiting on the client and what is nextAdds context and sends it
Monthly reportDrafts the narrative from what was done and what slippedAdds the ad, search and analytics numbers and the recommendations

Anthropic's Claude for Small Business plugin packages some of this as ready-made workflows in Claude Cowork, including a proposal builder and marketing workflows that use Canva, HubSpot and Mailchimp. Anthropic reports that KANE, a creative and growth agency, built a pipeline that scores fit from meeting notes, prices from past projects, drafts the proposal and sends the statement of work for signature within minutes of a yes. That is Anthropic's customer story, not a Flori result.

How do you connect Claude to your client records?

Claude's projects hold reference material well. They don't track which deliverables are approved, which client is late on feedback, or what changed since Tuesday. For that, Claude needs the record your team works from.

Any tool with a hosted MCP server can be added as a custom connector. Anthropic's help article says custom connectors work in Claude, Cowork and Claude Desktop on every plan, with one custom connector on Free. On Team, an owner adds the connector under Organization settings, Connectors, and each member then connects with their own account, so Claude only sees what that person can see.

Flori is one such record, built for retainers: each client's month of content, campaigns and reports in one project, with approvals from the client's marketing lead on a client page. Its server is at https://useflori.com/mcp. At sign-in you choose the whole workspace or a single client project, with read-only or update access, so a writer's Claude can be limited to the one client they work on.

A typical month with Claude and Flori:

  1. The account lead starts the client's month from a retainer template and marks the blog briefs Ready for AI.
  2. Claude claims a brief, reads the client's voice guide in Flori Docs and saves the draft. One assistant can claim a task at a time.
  3. The draft waits in Flori's review queue, where the writer approves it, sends it back or undoes it. Every save shows which assistant made it.
  4. Approved drafts go to the client page, where the client's marketing lead approves from one link.
  5. On the 1st, Claude drafts each monthly report from the finished tasks; the account manager adds the ad numbers.

Flori doesn't post to social networks, pull ad or analytics data, or bill hours against a retainer; keep your scheduler and reporting tools for that. Flori sells no AI credits, and assistants never count as seats (pricing). See how the retainer month works on Flori for marketing agencies, and setup steps on the Claude connect page.

Where Claude needs a human in the loop

FAQ

Is Claude good for marketing agencies? Yes, for briefs, proposals, first drafts, scope checks, meeting notes and monthly report narratives. It is strongest when each client has its own project with a voice guide and approved claims, and when it can read the live client record instead of pasted copies.

Which Claude plan is best for a marketing agency? Team, once two or more people share client work. As of November 2026, Standard seats are $20 a seat a month billed yearly or $25 monthly, with Premium seats for heavy users. Team adds shared projects, admin controls for connectors and no model training on your content by default.

How do I keep client data separate in Claude? Use one Claude project per client, share projects rather than chats, and scope each connector to the narrowest access. In Flori, a connection can be limited to a single client project with read-only or update access.

Can Claude connect to our agency's CRM or project tool? Yes, if the tool is one of Anthropic's partner connectors or offers a hosted MCP server, which you add as a custom connector. Flori is a CRM with project management for agencies that connects this way.

Does Claude replace our project management tool? No. Claude drafts and summarises; it doesn't track approvals, owners and due dates across clients. Pair it with the system your team already works from, and let Claude read and update that record.
