A folk alternative for teams whose deals turn into projects
Short answer: stay on folk if your work is relationships and outreach: contacts pulled from LinkedIn, enrichment, email campaigns and sequences, AI fields and assistants on top. Look at Flori if the pipeline is fine but what comes after is not: won deals become projects with tasks, deadlines, client approvals and your own AI doing part of the work.

When is folk a better choice than Flori?
folk is built for people whose job is staying in touch. Its pipelines page offers shared pipelines and dashboards, and the folkX Chrome extension imports leads from LinkedIn and enriches their details without leaving the page.
Its pricing page lists, per member a month:
- Standard: $24 billed yearly ($288 a year) or $30 monthly. Email campaigns, 500 email-finding credits, 2,000 messages per member, 2,000 magic fields and 1,500 Workflow Assistant credits a month.
- Premium: $48 billed yearly ($576 a year) or $60 monthly. Adds email sequences and API access, with 1,000 email-finding credits, 5,000 messages per member and 10,000 Workflow Assistant credits.
- Enterprise: from $80 billed yearly or $100 monthly, with custom limits.
New accounts get a 2-week trial with premium features and no credit card.
folk also has an MCP server. Its help article says your assistant can search people, companies and groups, create and update contacts, notes and custom fields, and move deals through pipelines. It works with Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, with the same access as your folk account. If you prospect on LinkedIn and run outreach from your CRM, folk does that and Flori does not.
Where does folk create friction for small teams?
folk's CRM ends at the deal, so multi-week delivery lives in another tool, outreach features drive its price, and its AI is metered.
1. The CRM ends at the deal. folk's deal records show to-do lists with owners and due dates, which is enough for follow-ups. Its pipelines page does not mention projects or project management. When a freelancer or agency wins work, the delivery plan, client updates and approvals usually move to a second tool.
2. Outreach features drive the price. Sequences and API access start at Premium, $48 per member a month billed yearly. A three-person agency that mainly wants a shared pipeline and one sequence pays the higher tier for everyone.
3. AI is metered. Magic fields, research and workflow assistants run on monthly allowances per plan (for example 200 Research Assistant uses a month on Standard and Premium), per the pricing page. That is fair for built-in AI, but if your team already pays for Claude or ChatGPT, you are paying for AI twice.
How does Flori handle client work compared with folk?
Flori keeps a simple CRM beside client delivery projects.
Flori keeps the CRM simple and puts delivery next to it.
- Customers in one place. Accounts, people, deals and leads, a deal pipeline board, saved views and intent signals on accounts (Premium). Email goes out from the record through your Gmail connection.
- Deals become projects. Projects, tasks, subtasks and dependencies, boards, My work, goals and project templates. See CRM with project management.
- A client page (Core and up). Publish only what a client should see; they follow progress and approve from one link.
- Your own AI does the work. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor, Codex or Gemini CLI over remote MCP, per workspace or per project, read-only or update. A task marked Ready for AI is reserved by one assistant, submitted work has a review path, while authorized direct updates can save immediately. Saves record which assistant made them. Compare setups in our MCP tools comparison.
- No AI credits. In-app drafting uses your own Anthropic or xAI key with spending limits, or your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
Flori does not have email campaigns, sequences, a LinkedIn extension, email finding or phone calls.
Who should keep using folk?
Founders and sales leads prospecting on LinkedIn and running outreach from their CRM should stay on folk.
- Founders and sales leads who prospect on LinkedIn and run outreach from the CRM.
- Teams that need email campaigns, sequences and email finding in one tool.
- People who want AI fields and assistants built into the CRM, without connecting their own.
Who should try Flori as a folk alternative?
Freelancers and small agencies whose deals become multi-week projects should try Flori as a folk alternative.
- Freelancers and small agencies whose deals turn into multi-week client projects.
- Teams that want clients to follow progress and approve on a shared page.
- People who already work in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and want that assistant working on client projects directly. Start with Flori for agencies.
A fair one-week trial
- Keep folk running for outreach. Do not move contacts or sequences during the trial.
- Pick one client you just won. Create the account and deal in Flori, then a project from a template.
- Connect your assistant with update access to that project only, and ask it to break the brief into tasks with dependencies.
- Publish a client page (Core) and send the link instead of a status email.
- After a week, compare how often you copied updates between tools, and whether the client page replaced check-in emails.
